Blogs, Bots and other wordstumps

I only became a blogger today, for the first time, because I had to become to get a Blogger ID, so I could post a comment to someone else's 'blog'. The blog word itself is something I find annoying. I suppose since it is short for weblog, and since it is I/me not WE writing it, then the WE of WEblog deserves to be taken out. Iblog would look even more stupid than blog, and MEblog would be ungrammatical too, so why not just plain blog. But it's silly, almost as much as this frivolous line of pseudo-argument. Even more silly is the techno-word "Bot", presumably shortened from Robot, which happenned to be coined by my compatriot, the Czech writer Karel Čapek, (or rather by his brother Josef), and is hidden in the title of his allegorical play R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots). These days, they'd be called Androids, anyway, the Robots in the play in question. Oh well. Language changes, I know ~ or at least its usage. Anyway, maybe I'll be back here to write some more stuff. At least, as graffitti goes, it is not defacing anything.
